Adding and deleting tickers in a collection

A collection has an optional list of tickers that provide progress messages. These are often posted repeatedly during a long job run and say something like '25% complete!' or some other useful message. Ticker messages can be anything you like, but they are limited to 128 characters. Tickers can be added, edited, and deleted from a web browser, or you can Add metadata from the command line.

Adding ticker messages

You can create a new progress message ticker. The time stamp for the new ticker defaults to the current date and time.

  1. Click the Collections menu bar item to view a list of existing collections.
  2. Select the collection to which you wish to edit.
  3. Click on the Tickers tab.
  4. Click the (Add) button at the top-right of the tab to add a new ticker.
  5. Fill in the new ticker form, setting the ticker's message.
  6. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

Editing ticker messages

You can edit a ticker's progress message from a web browser.

  1. Click the Collections menu bar item to view a list of existing collections.
  2. Select the collection to which you wish to edit.
  3. Click on the Tickers tab.
  4. Click the (Edit) button beside the ticker you wish to edit.
  5. Adjust the ticker's message or time in the ticker form.
  6. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

Deleting ticker messages

When you no longer need a ticker's progress message, you can delete it.

  1. Click the Collections menu bar item to view a list of existing collections.
  2. Select the collection to which you wish to edit.
  3. Click on the Tickers tab.
  4. Click the (Delete) button beside the ticker you wish to delete.
  5. Click the OK button in the delete confirmation dialog.
