Adding and deleting files to a collection

A collection can have any number of images, videos, and data files attached. You can attach files from the command line, or Add and delete files using a web browser.

Adding images, videos, and data files

Images, videos, and other files can be added to collections. You'll need the local path to the file. You can provide an optional title and description. See SeedMe's list of Supported content types.

Linux & OS X Windows
./seedme.py -update 1234 \
  -file_path "mydir/myimage.png" \
  -file_title "My latest plot" \
  -file_description "A plot of results"
seedme.cmd -update 1234 `
  -file_path "mydir\myimage.png" `
  -file_title "My latest plot" `
  -file_description "A plot of results"

Above '1234' is the ID of the collection you wish to update.

Adding image sequences

You can post entire image sequences, such as those for an animation. You'll need a list of the files, or the name of the directory containing them. You can provide an optional title and description. See SeedMe's list of Supported content types.

Linux & OS X Windows
./seedme.py -update 1234 \
  -sequence_path "mydir/myimages*" \
  -sequence_title "My animation" \
  -sequence_description "An animation"
seedme.cmd -update 1234 `
  -sequence_path "mydir\myimages*" `
  -sequence_title "My animation" `
  -sequence_description "An animation"

Above '1234' is the ID of the collection you wish to update.

If a sequence with your title already exists in your collection, the images are added to the sequence. Otherwise a new sequence is created automatically.

Creating a video from an image sequence

SeedMe can automatically encode an image sequence into a video. The sequence should already be complete. You can provide a frame rate to speed up or slow down an image sequence.

Linux & OS X Windows
./seedme.py -update 1234 \
  -sequence_title "My animation" \
  -sequence_frame_rate "5" \
  -sequence_encode
seedme.cmd -update 1234 `
  -sequence_title "My animation" `
  -sequence_frame_rate "5" `
  -sequence_encode

Above '1234' is the ID of the collection you wish to update.

Video encoding can take awhile. When the video is done, it will be available to play or download from the web site.

Deleting files

Files can be deleted from a given collection by specifying their filename or using wildcard string. You can also delete files using a web browser.

Linux & OS X Windows
./seedme.py -delete 1234 doc.pdf

./seedme.py -delete 1234 "*.png"
seedme.cmd -delete 1234 doc.pdf

seedme.cmd -delete 1234 "*.png"

Here the first command deletes all occurrences of doc.pdf files from collection ID '1234'.
While the second command delete all png files from collection ID '1234'.
