Inspired by Prof. Amit Chourasia's talk in SDSC summer school 2015, I adapted line integral convolution (LIC) method from SciPy cookbook to yt (http://www.yt-project.org). Now LIC image can be produced with yt with as easy as one line of code.

The screenshot show different operators in VisIt that may be used to transform a cartesian grid to spherical grid. One issue that may come up with such transformation is that the grid does not wrap around. There are two options to overcome this issue
